How to Eat Smart and Walk More

People in Motion

“People in Motion” includes a variety of activities such a walking group, a yoga group, cooking classes, and a 12 week getting started program at the YMCA.  It is delivered by trained fitness personnel and a registered nurse.

The four components are organized sequentially over a course of 12 months, and complement each other in terms of addressing the key concerns, i.e., diet, physical activity and life style modification.

This program is offered to residents of Kitchener/Waterloo and Cambridge who have a mental illness.

Steps to Health

“Steps to Health” includes a variety of activities such a walking group, a yoga group, cooking classes and fitness classes.  It is delivered by trained fitness personnel and a recreation therapist.

The components are organized sequentially over a course of 12 months, and complement each other in terms of addressing the key concerns, i.e., diet, physical activity and life style modification.

This program is offered to residents of Good Shepherd HOMES in Hamilton.
